Theme: "Nevertheless She Persisted"
This is a joint venture with the Fort Worth Central Library
and a new organization - Women In Power Empowering.
TCBHGS will recognize the achievements of Katherine
Johnson, NASA and professional tennis athletes, Venus &
Serena Williams.
TCBHGS will also recognize women in the Fort Worth
community who have persisted: Mae Cora Peterson, Pearl
Hunt, Johnnie Hughes, Bernice Stanley, Marjorie Crenshaw
and Myrtle B. Lewis-Keaton.
"The Empowerment Panel" will consist of remarkable women
who have overcome various challenges. We will hear about the
panelists' real life experiences and dig deeper to learn from them
how to stay the course and persist."
Yolanda Harper will serve as panel moderator and Kristen Guillory is the keynote speaker.
Refreshments will be served immediately following the program.
